Its 4-quadrant operation provides forward and\u003cbr\u003e\nreverse torque in both speed directions. This allows the\u003cbr\u003e\ncontrol to maintain constant speed with overhauling loads\u003cbr\u003e\nand provides rapid instant reversing and controlled braking.\u003cbr\u003e\nBecause of its excellent controllability and response time,\u003cbr\u003e\nthe KBRG™ can replace servos in many applications. The\u003cbr\u003e\ncontrol is factory set for armature feedback, which provides\u003cbr\u003e\nup to 1% load regulation over a motor base speed of 50:1.\u003cbr\u003e\nHowever, tachometer feedback is also available if superior\u003cbr\u003e\nregulation is required. By resetting mode jumper J7 to the\u003cbr\u003e\n“TRQ” position, the KBRG™ can be changed from a speed\u003cbr\u003e\ncontrol to a torque control.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe drive contains a variety of “selectable” jumpers and\u003cbr\u003e\nadjustment trimpots to allow for custom tailoring for exact\u003cbr\u003e\nrequirements. For example: jumper J6, when placed in the\u003cbr\u003e\n“TCL” position, provides adjustable timed current limit from 1\u003cbr\u003e\nto 15 seconds. This feature will protect the motor and control\u003cbr\u003e\nby shutting the drive down after the preset time has elapsed.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe KBRG™ can be operated with either a two (2) or\u003cbr\u003e\nthree (3) wire start\/stop circuit, or can be started from the\u003cbr\u003e\nAC line. A set of dedicated relay contacts are provided\u003cbr\u003e\nwhich are activated via the start\/stop circuit. They can be\u003cbr\u003e\nused to turn on or off corresponding equipment or to sound\u003cbr\u003e\nan alarm if the drive stops.\u003cbr\u003e\nAnother important feature is the array of the LED’s,\u003cbr\u003e\nwhich indicate the mode of operation the drive is in, and\u003cbr\u003e\nalso serve as a diagnostic tool. In addition, KB’s exclusive\u003cbr\u003e\nAuto Inhibit® circuit provides safe, smooth starting during\u003cbr\u003e\nrapid cycling of the AC line. The Overspeed Protect Circuit\u003cbr\u003e\nprevents failure of the power bridge in extreme overhauling\u003cbr\u003e\nconditions.\u003cbr\u003e\nReliability of the KBRG™ is further enhanced with the\u003cbr\u003e\nuse of a high speed current limit circuit along with armature,\u003cbr\u003e\nAC line and control circuit fusing and MOV transient\u003cbr\u003e\nprotection.
